Match comments :

Today the Looney Toons [LT] took on the highly ranked clan [CWD] in an 8v8 UKTFCL Ladder match. Two very good games were played on ROCK2 (erg) and SHUTDOWN. Again another close game was played in the struggle for number one in the ladder. Both teams agreed to not use prematch building on ROCK2 nor to use the laser trick on SHUTDOWN as both agreed these tactics suck.

Map one was ROCK2, it started off in the usual fashion with both teams probing the others defence and getting the usual brick wall response. Then only a few minutes into the map the [CWD] attack team got the key and it started its long bloody gibby trip to the Gas Chamber. The Road was lined with corpses (from both sides) but still they came and continued to inch it forward. They got it just around the corner from the [LT] Gas Chamber but there [LT] drew the line with the 'They Shall not Pass chant'. Finally the Key was returned and normality returned to the [LT] base. Well normality if you can call being overrun by spies and medics normal it was. Meanwhile the [LT] attack was having really no luck at one point when we got the key out it disappeared with our attackers searching frantically for the Key to no avail. What happened here probably only [CWD] can explain but we were confused to be sure. This game ended in the usual 0-0 and much respect to both teams in it who played valiantly.

Map two was SHUTDOWN, This was another Telefrag session for some of the [LT] defenders waiting 8 seconds to join can be critical on many maps thankfully not all our defenders were killed this time though and we managed to hold off the first wave. This map was hard fought but finally the [LT] attack managed to bring the flag home, unfortunately for [LT] the [CWD] attack did the same 5 mins later causing a slight tactics change. A lull seemed to happen on the [CWD] attack then suddenly our whole base was full of the enemy, this was very well coordinated by [CWD] but the surprised [LT] defenders held them off again and again. Finally the LT attackers sealed the game and brought home another CWD flag.

This was a very well played on both maps even if frustrating sometimes it was fun :) Both teams played well in a match that could of gone either way. This game made a real difference from the [DkS] farce that happened earlier in the evening. This was Fun and Challenging. All I can say is RAH! [CWD] and RAH! [LT]. [LT]Daffy-Duck was awarded MoTm for his valiant 'magic' Sentry gun building and rebuilding ;P work trying to hold of the [CWD] naughty people.
