A search for a musical history:
Jean Antonietti was born January 28 1915. After his study at the  conservatory he finished his study with the famous Beethoven interpreter Frederik Lamond and Tabernal. Johanna Martzy and Jean Antonietti

His debut he made in 1934 at the Kurhaus with the Residence orchestra. Since he played often as a soloist and a chamber musician.

With world famous musicians as Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, William Primrose, Johanna Martzy, Tossy Spivakovsky, Margerita Perras and Tibor de Machula he traveled through Western -Europe and South-America.

He played with different orchestras conducted by Piere Monteux and Eduard van Beinum as a soloist. He gave many radio recitals and probably worked with many other soloists.

Jean Antonietti died in 1994 at the age of 79.

Fortunately a great lover of violin music, Glen Armstrong discovered many records from Johanna Martzy. He was very impressed so he decided to write a biography about her life.  He worked hard to find out which recordings still excises and re-released them on CD and LP. Many records from works of Cesar Franck (1959), Maurice Ravel (1965), Ludwig van Beethoven (1951 - 1956) are already re-leased on CD. Even in Japan old DGG records out of the fifty's are re-released.

From Johanna Martzy are also records with Istvan Hajdu, Paul Szabo and the Bayrische Rundfunk orchestra are available again on CD.
